National Operatic & Dramatic Association
Since the Society’s inception in 1922 Stafford and District Operatic Society has been affiliatedto the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA). The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) was founded in 1899 and has a membership of 2,500 amateur theatre groups and 3,000 individual enthusiasts throughout the UK, staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of performing venues, ranging from the country’s leading professional theatres to village halls.

NODA has a network of regional representatives supporting its member groups. Our regional representative is Mrs Wyn Mason who attends all of our shows and provides invaluable advice and encouragement to the Society. The Association is administered from its Headquarters in Peterborough, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff able to deal with virtually any enquiry relating to amateur theatre. NODA’s aims are:

To give a shared voice in the amateur theatre sector

To help amateur societies and individuals achieve the highest standards of best practice and performance

To provide leadership and advice to enable the amateur theatre sector to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century

Many people give their time to NODA affiliated organisations, and our Society is no different. In recognition of our Members service to the Society we are able to present them with NODA Long Service Awardsat our Annual Dinner Dance.
