Joining Stafford and District Operatic Society

Stafford and District Operatic Society is always looking to encourage new members both on and off stage. If you would like to tread the boards or just help out backstage then why not contact our membership Secretary Sarah Bishop on email

sarah.bishop1@ntlworld.com

The Society currently performs two full musicals a year in the Gatehouse Theatre as well as a number of concerts. The Society, all of whom are amateur performers, uses professional directors and musicians to produce high quality musicals as their contribution to the arts in Stafford and the surrounding area.
The Society has an active social committee organising theatre trips, the annual dinner and barbeque as well as after show parties and other events. There is a bi-annual golf tournament during the week of the show and members can often be found having a social drink in a local hostelry after a hard evening of rehearsing.

If you are over the age of 16, can sing and always wanted to be on the stage then please contact our Membership Secretary Sarah Bishop and we’ll be in touch. You never know, you could be in our next show!

If you cannot sing or have no desire to be on stage but have an interest in the theatre, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with our productions, helping out backstage with makeup, costumes, as part of the stage crew or just making the tea.

The Society also has a youth section, MYTS (Musical Youth Theatre Stafford) for those aged 8 to 19 who want to be involved in musical theatre. To find out more about MYTS then
